How to get to Lombok

Lombok is the island east of Bali. Most guests arrive by plane or by fast boat.

By plane

Lombok International Airport (LOP) near Praya. Short flights from Bali (about 40 minutes) and Jakarta, plus international routes in Asia.

Fast boat from Bali

Fast boats from Bali (Padang Bai, Serangan, Sanur) go to the Gili islands and north Lombok in about 2–3 hours.

Public ferry

The slow ferry Padang Bai → Lembar takes about 4–5 hours — cheap and scenic.

From Gili Air

Staying at our Family Villas on Gili Air? A public boat to Bangsal (Lombok) takes about 15 minutes.

Who are the Sasak

The Sasak are the indigenous people of Lombok. Their villages, such as Sade and Ende in the south, keep the traditional lumbung — rice barns with a tall thatched roof that became the symbol of the island (and of our logo). Sasak women weave songket by hand, and the Bau Nyale festival every February brings the whole island to the beach.
